The Christchnrch City Council has (says a Press Association message) "decided to protest against several of the provisions of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Bill. ' . ' A councillor has given notice that at the next meeting of the HaWke's Bay County Council he will move, " That steps be taken to regulate the motor car traffic on the Taupo Road." _ Mr. A. Orr. of Methven, had four sheep killed by lightning on a recent afternoon. The animals appeared to have been struck on the' head, as almost all the wool was burned off : that part.. Water consumers on the western side of Richmond Avenue, in the Grey . Lynn Borough Council's district, as far as the brick buildings in Frances-street corner, also Salisbury, Wilton, and Frances Streets, are notified that -the water f will be cut off. *Rom nine a.m. till four p.m. to-day."
