EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.

THE 26th week of the North Island Egg-lay-ing Association's third competition was completed at Cambridge- on Friday 1 last. The weather during the week was favourable. The highest layings for the week were: — Championship class: J. W. Graham's white Leghorns, 35. Light breeds— M. Bankart's white Leghorns, 3*; W. G. Care's white Leghorns, 34; Raglan County Chronicle's white Leghorns, 33; Mrs. Hall's white Leghorns, 33; A. Denton's brown Leghorns, 33. Heavy breeds—C. Hammond's white Rocks, 35; J. I. Wbitehouse's buff Orpingtons, 34; Waikato Argus' black Orpingtons, 32. The leading pens at date arc: —Championship class: J. W. Graham's white Leghorns, 584. Light breeds—W. Rujiciman's brown Leghorns, 664; J. Cooko's white Leghorns, 648; A. H. Padman's, 644. Heavy breeds—F. J. Marfell's black Orpingtons, 720; C. M. Peck's black Orpingtons, 595; W. D. Shepherd's, 590. In the duck competition the results to date are.—S. H. Scott's Indian Runners, 42 for the week, total 886; W. Knight's Indian Runners, 13960; T. Dowfchwaite's Indian Runners, 24-—810; J. Smeaton's Indian Runners, 20—717; C. Hammond's Indian Runners, 26—886; Mrs. J. Scott's buff Orpingtons, 22—679.
