RIFFS ASK FOR CESSATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—
London, November 1. As a result of a meeting between the envoys of the Sultan (Mulai Hafid) and the Riffs the tribesmen have requested a cessation of hostilities. The Times correspondent at Melilla suspects that the proposal is connected with the Riffs' ploughing, which must be done in the early winter and cannot be proceeded with while the "male population is out fighting.
