THE SWEDISH STRIKE.
NO DISORDERLY SCENES. By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright.
Stockholm, August 23. A feature of the general strike in Sweden is the small number of cases brought before the magistrates for summary jurisdiction.
The action of the Government in closing all hotels and prohibiting the sale of intoxicating liquors during the progress of the strike has largely helped in the maintenance of order.
A large meeting of strikers in Stockholm urged that the prohibition be maintained for a month after work is resumed.
