QUEENSLAND POLITICS.
A DISSOLUTION GRANTED.
QUESTION OF SUPPLY.
By Telegraph.— Press Association.— right. (Received August 24, 10 p.m.) Brisbane, August 24. The Premier (Mr. Kidston) to-day interviewed tho Lieutenant-Governor and discussed, the political situation.
Speaking in the. Assembly later, he announced that he had asked for,. and been granted, a dissolution. (Received August 25, 12.40 a.m.) Brisbane, August 24. Mr. Kidston stated that the Government, had not taken action in regard to tho dissolution earlier because it was vital that the State should be represented at the Premiers' Conference. The House had outlived its usefulness, and it was high time the country had an opportunity of sending in one party or tho other. The LieutenantGovernor had accepted his advice to diesolve provided the House granted supply. He gave notice of motion for the following day to permit of the pass.age of an Appropriation Bill through all its, stages.
Mr. Bowman defended tho rights of his party to move a want of confidence motion. He would refuse tho supply motion.
The adjournment of the House was carried by 36 votes to 35.
