; . GOOD TEMPLARS. The Auckland j District Lodge, No. 3, 1.0. G.T., held its "quarterly session on Saturday afternoon in the Orange Hall, Newton, when the following lodges were represented:—Star of Newton, Ark of Eden, Victoria (Newmarket), Hope of Grey Lynn, and Archhill, Nil Desperandum (Otahuhu), Pride of Auckland, Star, of , Devonporr, Mystic Tie (Onehunga).. Nearly all the district officers wore present Brother G. Clark, D.C.T., presided. The reports from the. various : officers dealt with the work done since last, quarter session. . Some disappointment was experienced that in'; spite of, so much work done and so many initiations, the returns failed to show any increase of membership. The proposed amended by-laws occasioned some discussion, but after slight alterations were adopted. The C.T. introduced-several matters of interest," and Brother Jeffs submitted a scheme for raising a Good Templar fighting fund. This was approved and lef erred to the executive. TATTERSALL'S CLUB. The first general meeting of the recently established Auckland Tattersall's Club was held at the clubroom, Durham-street West, last evening, when Mr. F. Farrell presided over a large muster of members. Mr. W. P. Wilson, secretary, submitted a report of proceedings since the inception of the club, after which Mr. W. E. Hackett,' solicitor to the institution, read the proposed rules and regulations. The rules, as drafted, were approved of unanimously, after which the following officers were nominated: —President, Mr. Albert Glover, M.P.; vice-president, Mr. F. Farrell; secretary, Mr. W. R. Wilson; treasurer, Mr. W. Tidym&n; auditor, Mr. G. Hutchison; committee, Messrs. J. Morrison, G. Ellis, R. Noton, H. Jones, J. Jenkins, J. H. Pagni, A. Smith, M. J. Moore, J. Alexander, C. Morant, F. E. N. Gaudin, W. Morton, A. Boardman, J. Weston, A. Phillips, J. Beckett, J. Davidson.
