Cap- : tain Woebling then, got stern hawsers to ■ r, Wi adjoining wharf, and, with considerable skill, succeeded in ultimately anchoring his shin in mid-channel. Her previous position, was anxiously watched by a large crowd of interested spectators, for ■'••■,'.'.:.:■■ pad the efforts to release her from the (bank proved futile, nothing could have feared her from capsizing, as did her sister v V ship, the Wai-iti, some two years ago, a - mile lower down the river.
