Wellington, Friday. Ax the Supreme Court to-day, Harry Lee was found not guilty of breaking into the house of a Chinaman in Haining-street, Wellington, with intent to commit a crime. William Brown and Richard McCann were convicted of assaulting a man named Mahon and robbing bun of £1. Brown was sentenced to 15 months' imprisonment, and McCann to nine months' imprisonment. CHRISTCHURCH. [BY TELEGBAPH. —PBESS ASSOCIATION.] CHEiSTcnuRCH, Friday. At the Supreme Court to-day Fredk. Marshall, ex-managing director of the United Farmers' Coal Company, was convicted of embezzlement, and sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment. Fredk. William Dennett and George Nottingham wore acquitted on a charge of assault and robbery. On a charge of burglary, to which they pleaded guilty, the accused wore sentenced to three years' imprisonment. Hans Shaw was convicted of perjury, and sentence was deferred.
