THE GLOUCESTER MATCH.

ANOTHER DRAWN GAME. By Telegraph.— Association.— London - , August 18. The match between the Australians and Gloucestershire was concluded to-day, and resulted in a draw.

Additions to the scores of Townsend and F. Roberts, bring their runs up to 129 and 80 respectively, and Gloucester's total to 411 for eight wickets, at which the innings was declared closed.

A downpour of rain caused delay, and a start was not made till after luncheon. The pitch was slow and easy. Hartigan and Bardsley opened Australia's second innings, and the first wicket' went at 26, Hartigan sending an easy catch to Board at mid-off. -

Bardsley and Ransford were then associated, and both played free cricket. ,

The century was hoisted in 77 minutes. Bardsley's half-century took 95 minutes. When 66 he was taken low down in the slips. He batted 125 minutes, and showed fine all-round play. He hit. five fours, and the partnership lasted 90 minutes : Two for 180.

Gregory joined Ransford, and the second century appeared after 145 minutes' play- Soon after Ransford got his leg in front of one from Dennett. Ransford was brilliant all round, especially in his fine cutting and driving. He made 50 in 55 minutes, and the century in 100 minutes. He gave a chance to Brownlee, off F. Roberts, when 57, and was altogether 130 minutes at the wickets for 121. He got 13 fours : Three for 220.

Excepting Gregory, who played carefully, Dennett made short work of the others. The fourth wicket fell at 224, the fifth at 230, the sixth at 233 and the seventh at 238.

Hopkins and Whitty were both taken in the slips. -
