London, August 19. Miss Talbot, secretary of the Victoria League, sails for Australia and New Zealand in September, and will visit Canada. The tour is intended to extend the league's work.

Dcnedin, Thursday. The Hon. Mr. Millar, Minister for Kailways, was entertained at a social to-night by the combined committees which worked to secure his return for Dunedin West at the last general election. The attendance was large, and addresses of a semipolitical character were given by Mr. Millar, and the Hon. R. McKenzie, Minister for Public Works, who was also present.
