At a meeting of the Methodist ministers of Wellington city and suburbs, held at Taranaki-strcet on Monday, the following motion was unanimously adopted : —" That this meeting puts on record it« strong protest against the action of the City Council in letting the Town Hall for a boxing contest. It considers that such an exhibition is demoralising in it« influence upon a' l who may take part in it, .and, as such, it ought not to be sanctioned by the permission 'given to it by the' Council."
