ENTERTAINMENTS.
" JACK AND JILL."
The popular pantomime, "Jack anil Jill, attracted another packed house at His Majesty's Theatre last night,. The audience was thoroughly appreciative of the surpassingly fine scenic effects, the catchy music and vocal numbers, and the finished attention which was paid to the " business" of the piece. A successful matinee performance was also given during the afternoon. Another matinee performance will bo given on Saturday afternoon'. ROYAL ALBERT HALL. A change of programme was given by the Pat he Picture Company at the Royal Albert Hall last night to a crowded audience. "The Days of Oliver Cromwell" is a film containing both dramatic and scenic studies of high quality, and was loudly applauded by the audience. Tho dramatic films, " The Slave's Love" and "Tho Rival Sisters," were also highly appreciated. Of the comic series there is no dearth. The best are " Willie Wheeling" and "A Day's Holiday," these series causing much merriment and applause. The same programme will be repeated again to-night. TIVOLI THEATRE. The Tivoli Theatre, Newton, was well filled last night, when an excellent selection of moving pictures was presented to an appreciative gathering. The Harmonious Huxhams were again a great success and were applauded frequently. Tho same programme will be given to-night. OPERA HOUSE. Fuller's Wide-World Pictures arc exceptionally good this week. " The Fighting Top of a Battleship When in Action" was loudly applauded last night. " Dissolving the Government " is a moat weird picture. The same programme can only be given tonight and to-morrow. On Saturday, at the matinee, a complete change of programme will be given. ST. JAMES' SOIREE. The annual soiree and .social reunion of the members of St. James* Presbyterian Church was held in St. James' Hall last evening. Tea was provided at half-past six, and this was followed by a concert, several musical and vocal items being rendered, besides an address by the Rev. H. Steele Craik. ORGAN RECITAL. An organ recital was rendered in St. John's Methodist Church last night by Mr. 'Raynor White. Among the items were: Grand Dedication March," Jerusalem," and " Tho Abbey Chimes." Vocal items J were rendered by Mrs. Hamilton Hodges, } Miss Eileen Mitchell, Mr. E. E. Pierce, and St. John's choir.
