PRISONER STRANGLES HIMSELF.

*■ , Wangantti, Friday. A man named Frederick Moorehouse, who was arrested yesterday when in a state of helpless intoxication, and was remanded for a week for medical treatment, strangled himself in his cell last night. Deceased had been drinking: heavily lately, and early yesterday morning he broke into. an . hotel. He was - arrested evidently in a state of mental derangement. Last night he tore his shirt in strips, as he lay in a padded cell, and then strangled himself He was about 40 years of age, and leaves a wife and three children. ;
