THE PAKURANGA HOUNDS.
Owing to the bad weather on Friday it was considered impossible by the Pakuranga Hunt Club on Saturday to bunt over the country that, had been intended- It was therefore decided to hold a paper chase in place of the regular hunt, and the members of the club met at two p.m. at the Penrose railway station. Th;> trail was laid by Messrs. E. D. O'Rorke (master), Doherty, and Dunn. A couple of long and fast runs were given round Mount (Smart, and back again across the scoria country to Mount Wellington, thence down towards Panmure, and back to the mountain. The rice was much enjoyed by those who took part in it, and the fun voted almost as good as the ordinary sport. Amongst those following were: Mrs. Bloomfield (M'liss), Misses Gorrio (Aroha), R. Gorrie (Potiki). West (Joe May), R. Hellaby (Dinah), Ivy Hellaby (Pat), Gill (Tikitere), Sturges, Cochefc (ft chestnut). Wilson,. Gray, Sir Robert Lorkhart (Waiuku), and Messrs. Bullock-Webster- (Vanity), B. Myers (Bowler), Kay (Rolf). Pellaby (Honey), F. Selby (Tui Cotui), Wilson (Freemount), Kinloch, Go! Lan, Commons (Comus), Dalton (Markham), Dunnct (a chestnut,); and C. Dunlop (on Tasso).
