A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the executive of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held in the association's rooms, High-street, yesterday afternoon. M. I ' Grey, president of the association, presided.

Winter Show Site: The question of the site for winter show purposes was referred to a sub-committee for report. Spring Show: November 26 and 27 were fixed as the dates of the spring show. Mining Tailings: Correspondence was received from Thames and Waihi urging the association to pass a resolution protesting against the silting up of the Thames and Waihou Rivers with mining tailings. The president regarded the question as a very important one to the farming community, and said he thought the association should do something in the direction suggested. Ho moved " That this association urges upon the Minister for Agriculture the necessity of taking immediate steps to prevent the silting up of the Ohinemuri and Waihou Rivers, feeling sure that this is the only measure that will save the valuable farming and dairy lands of the Thames Valley." Dominion Conference: Messrs. J. G. Rutherford and K. Hall were appointed as tho association's delegates to the A. and P. Association's conference to be held in Wellington shortly. "
