♦ THREE DREADNOUGHTS TO BE BUILT. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyvitfnt. Buenos Ayres, March 23. The Argentine Government is ordering three Dreadnoughts to be built in Germany. . v Brazil has under construction in England three of the latest and most formidable battleships— the Minas Geraes, was recently launched—two armoured cruisers, 11 torpedo boats, six torpedo-boat destroyers, and three submarines. Sucih a fleet would mako Brazil altogether too powerful in South American waters, so the neighbouring Republic of Argentina has in solf-protection drawu out a counterbalancing programme of naval construction, at a cost stated at from eight to 10 millions Argentines strength in ships built on October 31, 1908, was: Thre-3 battleships, four armoired cruisers, four protected cruisers, 22 torpedo boats, three destroyers, ;.nd several submarines. ——————— '
