At a meeting of the Waikato Trotting; Club on Tuesday-night the president said the present position was anything but satisfactory, m the club had at least an absolute cash liability of £124, and against that there was only £44 in band, which roughly left £80 to be cleared off. Of the money to be collected £30 was good, but £47 for subscriptions and nominations was doubtful. He felt that trotting was not progressing In the Waikatn m, was anticipated, and the club was not receiving the support expected; trotting deserved. It seemed as if the public did not want it. It was resolved to pay out'• the balance of stakes at once, the members of the committee guaranteeing any shortage.
