BISHOP LENIHAN IN ROME.

Roman, Catholic Bishop of Auckland, accompanied by Father j Patterson, has returned from the pilgrimage to Rome, where they had an audience of threequarters of an hour with the Pope. .-Father Patterson was presented by the Superior-General of ; the Capuchins (who is preacher to . the Popo) with a silver medal, representing His Holiness denouncing modernism. Concerts were held at the Rnssio Hotel every evening during the pilgrimage. Bishop Lenihan was chairman, and Mr. Walter Kirby, of New Zealand, was one,of the soloists. Father Patterson has been preaching a number of charity sermons in Lancashire and Yorkshire, and he will return to lecture on New Zealand. Tt. is quite probablo that, the Bishop and his secretary will leave for homo by tho North German Lloyd line at the end of the month.
