PRISONER'S BRIEF LIBERTY.
[BT TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] P.u.merston Nortk, Saturday. A prisoner named John Jones endeavoured to escape from a gang working, in the courthouse grounds yesterday. He .was' recaptured by a warder before he got .very far, but when collared struck his captor; a severe blow in the face, and assistance had to be secured before Jones was finally overpowered. At the Court, this morning he was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for attempted escape from custody and assault. . . .
