The greatest and most urgent need of the West Coast is a harbour, which it will bo possible to work at any state of the tide and in all weathers (says the Grey Star). Further than this, our ideal is a harbour which will be capable of accommodating tramp vessels of such a size as wi.l enable us to compete successfully with Newcastle and our other rivals in the commercial world.
