A FASHIONABLE WEDDING.

PRIME MINISTER'S SON.

Wellington*, Sunday In perfect weather the wedding of Miss Elinor Davidson, niece of the late Mr. Aloysins Mac Donald, to Mr. Cyril Ward, eldest son of the Prime Minister, was solemnised yesterday afternoon at the Basilica, Hill-street. The church was charmingly decorated, and the service, though not choral, was most impressive. Miss Putnam, the organist, played voluntaries beforehand, and the "Wedding March" after the ceremony. The church was crowded with guests and spectators. The bride wore a very simple Empire frock of rich white satin, the square-tucked yoke of chiffon net being bordered by rows of pearl embroidery. The long train was carried by Master Pat Ward, the picturesque pages, in white satin court dress and tricorne hat, each bearing a silver crook. The two bridesmaids. Miss Ward and. Miss Gladys Webster, were in white crepe de chine frocks, with white hats, Miss Ward having clusters of violets in her hat, and carrying a bouquet of mauve sweet peas, and Miss Gladys Webster had pink flowers in. her bouquet and hat. The best man was Mr. W. Prouse. Lady Ward's gown was of silver-gray crepe de chine, and her hat of mole colour was massed with plumes. After the wedding a reception was held at " Awarua House' to celebrate the wedding, and also the silver wedding of the Prime Minister and Lady Ward. A very large number of presents were received by the two brides and bridegrooms. • Many relations came to Wellington for the ceremony, among them being Mrs. Tip-' ping, Sir Joseph's sister, from the Bluff; Mrs. and Miss Henderson, from Invercargill and Mrs. Boyes; from Christchureh <liady Ward's two sisters);,. and Mr. and Mrs, Ward, from Palnierston North. The bride's travelling frock was of white cloth, and she wore a white hat.
