NEW VARIETY OF BARLEY.
[BY TELEGRAPH.— CORRESPONDENT.]
Christchurch, Saturday. A new variety of barley has been introduced into the Ashburton county this season, named the six-rowed Nonpareil. A farmer at Seaview has a small acreage of this cereal, and it looks as if it should yield heavily. It is said to be a good barley for feeding off, and excellent for malting purposes. <
