FIRES IN WELLINGTON.
THREE HOUSES DESTROYED.
[BT TELEGRAPH. —I'KESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Sunday. Two seven-roomed houses in College-street were destroyed by fire last night. Both residences were owned by Mr. John Scannell, of Wanganui, one being occupied by Mrs. Garbatt and the other by Mr. Charles Pcrrin. The houses were insured in the Commercial Union Company, one for £200 and the other for £300.
Fir© broke out at 10.15 last night in a seven-roomed house at Kilburnie, occupied by Mr. Albert Byrne, and owned by Mr. Thomas Lyons. No water was available, and everything was completely destroyed. The furniture and effects were insured in the Manchester, office for £200, but the building was uninsured.
