FIRE AT KINGSLAND.
A SIX-XOOMF.D house, owned and occupied bv Mrs. C. E. Patterson, New North Road, Kingsland. was destroyed by fire early yesterday morning, nothing being saved but a few pieces of furniture. Mrs, Patterson, retired to rest at about 12.30 a.m., at which time, she states, everything was safe. At 2.30 a.m. she was awakened by the smell of smoke, and on investigation she discovered that the kitchen was in flames. The Mount Albert tire brigade attended, but the outbreak had too strong a hold for them to suppress it. The cause of the fire is unknown. The house was valued at £400, and the contents at £100, and they were insured in the Victoria office, jointly, for £340.
