HOTEL DESTROYED.. [BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Oamaeu, Tuesday. A large wooden building, of 28 rooms, known as the Kurow Hotel, at Kurow.. was totally destroyed by fire at midday to-day. The fire is supposed to have started in one of the bedrooms upstairs, and in half an hour the building was completely destroyed.. Some of! the furniture and stock in the lower storey was saved. The ■ buildings near the hotel were in danger for some time from the flying sparks, and the stock from the stores and the furniture from the houses were removed. The building was owned by Mr*. Delargy, and was insured for £900 in the •South British office,' while the furniture and .stock of the licensee (Mr. J. Cahill) was insured for the most part in the National office for £600. THE DUNEDIN OUTBREAK. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DtWBDIN, Tuesday. The insurances on the buildings and plant of the Co-operative. Fat and Tallow Company's works at the cattle yards, which were destroyed by fire last night, totalled £800. The loss is roughly estimated at £1000 in excess of the insurances. At the time of the fire there were 15 tons of tallow, worth £5000, on the premises, also about 50 ;. tons of prepared manure, valued at £250. This win all' ready for delivery.
