The railway men succeeded in bringing just a little of the atmosphere of the utilroad to their annual social, held at the Royal Albert Hall last night. The hall was very artistically decorated, and here and there red guard and engine lamps shone out. There were some 200 dancers, and, while ordinary programmes were provided, the dances were announced by railway semaphore. The guard whistle was blown to start the dances.
