Sir,—ln tho issue of the HjRJtA&O of tbfl » 191 h hist, is a paragraph re the Eden Terrace Road Board agreeing to pay tho' balance of cost of double line through Eden Terrace, if the Tramways Company givfl £500. From this it would appear the Board were unanimous. Nothing of ■th*»* kind, One. member wan absent, and I, {oi another, do not, agree to spend tho. ratepayers' money in this manner. To agi-ets to this payment is contrary to the resohi* (ion moved by Mr. Cleveland, and seconded) by myself, which was carried: with one dissentient only at a large meeting of ratepayers. .1.
