CITY COUNCIL'S £130,000 LOAN. An important poll of the ratepayers .o? ■-•'■" Auckland will be taken to-day, between '■■- nine a.m and seven p.m., on the pro- i posal of the City Council to borrow :% £130,000 for various works and improve- jj ments. The allocation of the proposed loan is as follows:—Street improvements, £32,000; widening Custom-street West, £15,000; widening High-street, r £5000; 'u widening Upper Symonds-street, £4000; " city's proportion of the cost of a new morgue, £1000 towards ": the erection and Wcompletion of. the new Town Hall, £30,000 waterworks, £40,000; and improvements to Victoria, Albert, Bayfield, and Western Parks and Auckland Domain, £3000. It is expected that the polling will be fairly heavy. - The. booths are as follows:-— Hospital and Charitable Aid office, Chancery -street; Choral Hal!, Lower Syroonds-streefc; Federal Club Boom, Wdledoy'-fltreefc; St. James' Hall, Wellington-street; St. Benediet's Hall, East-street; Foresters' Hall, Edinburgh-street; and Ponsonby Hall, Jer. vbis Road. - , _ , ,
