AUSTRALIA'S ASPIRATIONS.
STATEMENT BY MR. KIDSTON. THE NEED FOR IMMIGRATION. By Telegraph,—Press Association.—Copyright. London, June 19. Mr. "W. Kidston, Premier of Queensland, has arrived in England on a brief visit. In the course of several interviews Mr. Kidston dilated on the aspirations of a " White Australia" and (Queensland's progress. He emphasised that Australia had room for many thousands of emigrants. If the Motherland were unable to supply immigrants, the Premier added, Queensland would welcome Germans, Danes, and Swedes. Australia,' he. emphatically declared, had quite decided to prevent an Asiatic invasion. In return for preference in butter, said Mr. Kidston, Australia was willing to give preference to English engines.
