DANGEROUS SITUATION. PROCLAIMING THE PRETENDER EXCITEMENT IN . TANGIERBy Telegraph— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received June 21, 4.40 p.m.) Tangier, June 20. The people of Tangier are inclined to proclaim Mulai Hand (the Pretender) as Sultan. The authorities of Abdul Aziz have summoned all the forces from outside to patrol the town, with the object of preventing the proclamation. , There is great excitement in consequence of a rumour that the French naval authorities intend to land a force to prevent an outbreak in the event of Mulai Hafid being proclaimed. Paws, June 20. ' The French Chamber of Deputies, by a majority of 217, endorsed the Government's Moroccan policy, after M. Pichon (Minister for Foreign Affairs) had explained that if France, were eventually compelled to recognise Mulai Hafid (Pretender to the Sultanate), he must acknowledge that country's rights to adhere to the Algeciras compact,, and pay for damages done.
