CRUSHED BY MACHINERY.
[BY TELEGRAPH.'— I'BKSS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Friday. A youKG man named Dudley V. Hood, son of the harbourmaster at New Plymouth, was the victim of a serious accident on the steamer Kaitangata at, Port Chalmers today. He was bending over the cross-head of a circulating pump as the machinery was started, and was badly crushed. He was removed to the hospital in a serious condition. Hood joined the shore stall of the Union Steam .Ship Company >»> Tuesday last.
