FLEET WEEK.

THE FULL PKOGRAMME. The following is the complete programme, as adopted by the Citizens' Committee yesterday, in connection with the approaching visit of the American Fleet, which arrives at Auckland on Sunday, August 9:— SUNDAY. Fleet arrives and takes up its moorings. No public display to be held, but official visits to be arranged. MONDAY. Morning: Official reception by the Prime Minister, on behalf of the Government, on landing, and presentation of address from the Harbour Board. Presentation by the Government to President Roosevelt and Admiral on behalf of the people of New Zealand. Procession to Drill Hall, where the visitors will be accorded a. civic reception by the Mayor on behalf of the citizens of Auckland. Ambulance Association to provide men and nurses during the procession in case of accident. Address on behalf of citizens of Auckland, accompanied by an artistic inlaid souvenir portfolio to be presented to the Admiral. Principal .officials lunch with the Mayor at "Cintra," Symonds-street, the remainder of the officers of the landing party to lunch at the, Northern and Auckland Clubs. Afternoon: A military review, to be arranged by the Government. Evening: Official Government banquet at the Drill Hall to about 700 guests, tendered to the Admiral and officers of the fleet, Fireworks display for one hour at Railway Wharf, possibly in conjunction with searchlights and .illuminations of the American fleet and Australian squadron. TUESDAY. Morning: Land 1000 men. Tram trips and lunch. Men return to the ships after lunch. Afternoon: Reception by Mayor and Mayoress at the Drill Hall to guests,, : visitors, and citizens of Auckland. j Entertainment for men to be arranged. Evening: Governor's .State ball at Govern- „ ment House. Arrangements for smoke concerts for men at various halls. WEDNESDAY. Race meeting at Ellerslie. Failing this, football matches. h Admiral, officers, and Prime Minister and guests leave at 3 p.m. for Rotor-pa: second train for remainder •of guests at 4 p.m. Evening: Sports and entertainments, as per. programme to be arranged. Orphans' Club entertain officers remaining in Auckland. Non-com. Garrison officers entertain non-coms, of American and English . fleets at Drill Hall (250). THURSDAY. Morning: Land 1000 men. Train trips and lunch. Afternoon: Laud 2500 men for matinees at. theatres. Evening: Land 1000 men for sports and entertainments. Savage Club entertains officers. Entertain 250 non-coms., as on | Wednesday. FRIDAY. Day's racing at Takapuna. Failing this, * football match at Alexandra Park, Citizens v. Fleet; or lacrosse or baseball matches. Evening: British Medical Association entertains surgeons of fleet. Entertain 250 non-coms. SATURDAY. Football match, Auckland v. Wellington. Left open by desire of American Consul-General.
