■ «B» -—— : ■ A ebpbesijn'tativje meeting of Mr. E. W. Alison's supporters was held last- evening at Devonport for the. purpose of considering the selection of a candidate for Waitemata to represent the- Opposition. The names of Mr. L. K. Phillipp*. president of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, and Mr. J. Clark, more widely known as Pastor Clark, a resident of Takapuna, were approved by the meeting as gentlemen fitted to represent the electorate.. Finally it was decided that a fiu'bher meeting bo held next Tuesday evening at the Council Chambers, Devonport, at. eight o'clock, at which the two gentlemen mentioned are to be requested to attend, and to make known Mieir views upon leading political questions.
