A SENSATIONAL RUNAWAY.

A sensational runaway occurred in Valley Road, Mount Eden, laic last night. Mi-. Cecil Cook was driving to his home from town in a. trap, when the horse shied at some object on the road, and bolted.

Mr. Cook was thrown out on to the road, whilst tho horse galloped down several byroads, and finally, in Canada-street, Mount Roskill, broke through a double gate, which was locked. Eventually the runaway was brought to an end by the horse falling into a stony gully at the end of the section from Canada-street.

Mr. Cook got off with a slight shock, and strange to say, the horse, trap, and harness also escaped injury.
