BRITISHERS IN MOROCCO. INDIGNANT DENTS. [ By Tekgraph.—l'rw Association.— Copyright, 'Tangier, April 15. Tub British Consul at Tangier ha* warned British subjects that the Imperial Government, will refuse henceforth to pay any ransoms m the event of capture by brigands, either in or outside of the town. The British residents are very indignant. The above warning is evidently the outcome of the heavy ransom which the British Government recently found it. necessary to pay to the notorious Raisul: <o secure the release of Kaid Sir Hurry ManLean, whom Raisuii had taken prisoner some months previously. In order to secure the release of Raid MaeLeart, the British Legation deposited £20.000 in the bank, and of this amount £5000 was to I be paid at once, and the remaining j £15,000 was to lie at interest for five I years, yielding interest to Haisuli to the ! extent of about. £50 a month.
