Fishing in Lake Tarawera a local party landed 2,2 fish, averaging 7lb in weight, Lieutenant Dalgety obtaining a like number, averaging 7£lb. Mr. Bushby, a well-known angler from England, who .had his headquarters in the house-boat in the Ohau Channel, obtained 934 fish in 56 days, averaging 51b in weight. Complaints are general in the fishing camps at present, at the laxity of the Tourist Department in announcing definitely the close of the season, many anglers wishing to stay on if the time is extended, or to make other arrangements.
