A young man named Robert Henry t- ; Chappell, defended by Mr. W. E. Huckett, '?•: pleaded guilty to a "charge of committing r • an indecent act in Wellosley-street. Mr. iHackett- asked that as there was no fine in such a case, and as accused's mother was entirely dependent on him, he be ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. To this the Bench agreed. A prohibition . r. order was also issued against Chappell for f■; 12 months. | \ Three first offenders were convicted of I 'V drunkenness. Two were discharged on : payment of cab hire, and the other, who I did not appear, forfeited his bail. Robert John Arrol, also charged with drunkenness, was remanded for a week's medical treatment. Jessie Alexander, a second offender, |' was fined 10s, or in default 48 hours' im- |"• prisonment. William Twentyman and Archibald Mc|v Naughton, charged with drunkenness and f,-' . with procuring liquor while prohibited, v . were remanded until to-day Wm. Ivapp,,.. charged with procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order, and tfrith being found on the licensed £ premises of the Wynyard Arms Hotel, was remanded until to-day, in order that he i might be brought before a' stipendiary "i magistrate.
