RELIGION IN SCHOOLS.
A PROPOSED CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.Press --Copyright. London, April 12. The consultative committee of the National Society for promoting the education of the poor in the principles of the Established Church, at a meeting presided . over by the Archbishop of Canterbury, discussed the question of religious instruction in schools. The committee carried a resolution in favour of a conference between members of the Church of England, Nonconformists, and Roman Catholics to adjust their differences and ■ maintain religions teaching in the national school system.
