LADY PASSENGERS' STRANGE CONDUCT.

Two ladies, who had a sum of money in their possession, conceived the ide i that two male passengers intended to rob them. -At Beaufort they got out of the coach and beseeched the postmistress to protect them. She prevailed on them to again take their seats] When abut a mile from town, one took her hat off, and, without warning, stabbed one of the passengers, Mining Inspector James, through the lobe of the ear, with her hat pin. The coach was stopped, both Indies screaming, "Kill him! Kill him!'' One of them managed to get on the box ot the coach, and scratched the face of the driver, Wm. Woods. Both ladies then ran away, and _>re later directed, at their request, by a boy, to the police station/ where they rested all night. The cause of their conduct is unknown.
