TELEGRAPHISTS ON STRIKE
POSITION IN INDIA
By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright.
London, April 10. The Daily Mail reports that the telegraphists have begun a strike throughout India. The Calcutta office is nearly deserted.
Recent cable messages stated that much dissatisfaction exists among the telegraph of India owing to the new regulations following on the visit of Mr. Newland, lent by the British Government to reorganise the office. They have been wilfully delaying telegrams, which had to be sent on by post in many cases, and their action has disorganised business.
