MR. A. M. FINLAYSQN ELECTED.

Wellington, Sunday. The Senate of the University of New Zealand met yesterday and elected the Exhibition Science Research Scholar for the year. The examiners in England had been unable to decide between the two candidates, A. M. Einlayson, M.Sc., of Dunedin, and I). E. Hansen, B.Sc., of Auckland. After a lengthy discussion it was resolved that the scholarship be awarded to Mr. Einhiyson.
