THE DIXON CASE.
DEPUTATION TO WAIT ON THE
MINISTER

Drurt, Saturday. At another., public meeting held here tonighS, further steps were taken in the efforts to effect the release of Mr. W. Dixon, who is undergoing two months' imprisonment for failure to pay the fine inflicted by Mr. Northcroft, S.M., in connection with a back-wages claim by a former employee.
The following resolutions were carried : — (1) " That a deputation wait on the Hon. Jas. McGowan (Minister for Justice} requesting that the case of Mr. W. Dixon be reopened, arid putting the facts before him. (2) That a public petition on the lines of the resolution be also presented to the Minister."
