GOLDFIELD THEFTS.
TWO PERSONS VICTIMISED.

. Waihi, Saturday. Two robberies occurred in this district during the week, one at Mackaytown and the other at Karangahake. At the former place the back door of a house occupied by Mr. Casely was left open for a miner who was on afternoon shift. He was, however, preceded by a thief who ransacked the place and secured between £6 and £7 in money.
At Karangahake a- watch and chain belonging to a Thames resident, , who had cnly been in the district a. few days, was stolen. They were valued at £14.
