London, March 24. * The military correspondent of the Times, in an article headed " Armed Australia," recommends the Commonwealth, in the event of Mr. Dcakin's plan being accepted, to devote its best efforts to the provision of a highly educated body of officers, a solid and permanent staff, and the best system of held artillery.
The writer declares that if Mr. Deakin's scheme is passed it will give the Motherland a lead which i? badly wanted.
