HIKURANGI ORGAN CASE. REFERRED TO THE PRESBYTERY. [BY TELEGRAM.— CORRESPONDENT.] Whangakei, Wednesday. Considerable evidence was heard this morning at the S.M. Court, before Mr. R. W. Dyer, in the charges of perjury brought by Meredith Soule against Alexander McLeod. The charges arose out of the organ case, heard at the last sitting of the Court, when McLeod was alleged to have committed perjury in three instances while giving evidence. A settlement was come to out of Court during the luncheon adjournment, and, an agreement was drawn up and duly signed. This provided that all matters in dispute or pending would be withdrawn by consent of the magistrate, and submitted ab initio to a commission of three members of the Auckland Presbytery, one member to be nominated by Soul© and two by the Presbytery, the final decision of the Presbytery to be given six weeks from date. Meantime the organ will be left with William Lauder, of Hikurangi, who will give an undertaking to hold it until the decision 16 given. '■."'- . . The sum of £31 was paid into Court for the hearing of the appeal against the magus-, trate's decision in the case of the Presbyterian Church Trustees v. Meredith Soule If the organ is awarded to the Church and delivered, £25 of that sum will be paid to Soule. ■ ____———
