MaoMAHON'S PICTURES. The second tour of New Zealand which tin Messrs. MacMahon will enter upon at His. Majesty's Theatre on Monday evening next will be characterised by special enterprise in the realm of living picture entertainments. For month? this f management haw been entertaining large audiences in every part of the Dominion with their exhibitions of the cinematographic art, and at the same time they have been securing the latest developments and improvements as fast .is they have come out in Europe and America, as well as gathering together an entirely now selection of popular compositions, and as a result of their success in this direction they promise their patrons some plea-ant surprises. PICTURE "POPS."' 'Hi" management, of the Picture '* Pops,'* which will open at the Federal Hall tomorrow night, have installed an up-to-date electric- plant. Chairs will be provided for 900 persons. The latest ideas in cinematography will be exhibited, and popular musical items will be rendered by the MacCallums, a family of artists who have beer, touring the Dominion with success. In addition, a comedy sketch will be staged. Every lady in the front -eats will be presented with ■a bet of souvenir postcard* of the MacCallum Company . ST. .STEPHEN'S CHUItCJ.t. The new parish hall erected in connection with St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church Poiiboiiby was opened on Wednesday evening by a concert and conversazione, and the building was comfortably crowded. The mam body of the hall is 53ft bv 32ft, and: can accommodate, about 300 people. Several class rooms of various sizes lead from the mam room, and a kitchen also is provided, fitted with every convenience for social requirements. The Rev. Macaular Caldwell. who presided at the concert, congratulated! the congregation of St. Stephen's at having this useful addition to the property, which cost about £800, and was being opened entirely free of debt. An excellent programme was presented, including some partsongs rendered by the choir under the leadership of Mr. Hartley, solos by Misses McDonald, Biggs, Hanna, and Mr. Manning, a short address b„ the Rev. Mr. Trotter, and two recitations by Mr. W. Steel. Miss P. Hanna acted as accompanist. Refreshments were handed round during an interval for social intercourse, and a "thoroughly . enjoyable evening was spent.
