_ » EPSOM SCHOOL COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Epsom District School Committee was held on Tuesday evening. A letter was read from the headmaster stating that the sanitary service was not being carried out satisfactorily. It was resolved that tho contractor be requested to carry out the terms of the agreement. It was also resolved to urge the Eoad Board to take in hand without delay the construction of a septic tank. The Grounds Committee wore authorised to spend a sum not exceeding £20 in carrying out improvements to tho school grounds. TRADES AND LABOUR COUNCIL. Tho usual meeting of the Auckland Trades and Labour Council was held last night, Mr. A. Rosser (president) presiding. About 40 delegates were present. A request was received from the Political Labour League that the Council should meet that body on tho 26th inst. in connection with a, proposal to set up a representation committee. It was agreed to meet tho league as requested. Tho council of the Political Labour League wrote asking tho Council to co-operate in calling a public mooting to express indignation with the present "mismanagement" of tho tramways. The matter was deferred. An address was given on "The Attitude of tho Church on Labour Questions" by the Rev. R. A. Robinson. A committee was sot up to go into the question of sentences passed upon prisoners, with special regard to some recent cases. The committee was instructed to report to next meeting of tho Council. ONE-TREE HILL ROAD BOARD. A meeting ,of the One-tree Hill Road Board was held last evening, there being present: Messrs. E. W. Burton (chairman), W. Wall, 0. McKinney, M. R. Crcagh, and H. B. Devereux. The dedication of the Avenue, Rahiri, and Wheteraugi Roads was accepted, as embraced in the minutes of tho previous meeting of the Board. LODGE MANUKAU, N.Z.O. Tho annual meeting and installation of worshipful master and officers of Lodge Manukau, No. 24, N.Z.C, will take place at the Masonic Hall, Onehunga, this evening, when a big muster of tho brethren is expected, including R.W. Bro. Oliver Nicholson, G.S., and officers of the Grand Lodge. Twelve months ago a large reception room was added to the front of the hall and the building made thoroughly up to date. Howover, the brethren decided to make further additions, and on the plans of Bro. .1. Park accepted tho tender of Mr. R. M. Barr to add a large room to the back, besides effecting several other improvements at a cost of £400. This work has boon completed, and the room will bo available as a social room from to-night. Tho W.M.-elect is Bro. T. Mincher.
