♦ ALLEGED THEFT OF TRAM TICKETS. A young- man named Victor Ehnnan, emj ployed as a conductor on the Auckland elecj tric tramways, "was charged, before Messrs. N. Alfred Nathan sad Thos. Peacock, J.P.'s, at the Police Court yesterday with ! having stolen a quantity of tram tickets, valued tit £20 0s 3d, the property of the Tram '.vays Company. Detective McMahon applied for a remand for eight days, which was granted. He was sentenced to one month's imprisonment on each charge, the terms to run concurrently. A sailor named Antonia .'Rom., charged with deserting the ship Oni, was remanded for one week. Three first offending inebriates (one female, and two males) were lined 10s and costs, or in default 48 hours' imprisonment A fourth offender, named Margaret Williams, was sentenced to 12 weeks' imprisonment.
