A RECORD-BREAKING COASTER Thb current issue of the Auckland Weekly News covers a wide range of interesting subjects drawn from all parts of the Dominion and abroad. On the doublepage will be found a striking panorama of Petone, a rapidly expanding suburb of the city of Wellington, and two selected views on the route of the North Island Main Trunk railway, whilst among the numerous current event* dealt with may he mentioned the recent disastrous collision in the harbour between the ketch Moonah and the steamer Wairuna, opening of a new post office at Waipu, Te Ante College conference, finish of the Rifle Association's championship meeting at Wellington, the strangest railway accident ever photographed, opening of a new Technical School at Feilding, the four prominent- suffragists who have just been released from gaol, a record-breaking coaster, the Prime Minister's visit to Te Kopuru, preparations for the great Franco-British Exhibition to be held in London, His Majesty King Edward VII. in state, and a portrait of Britain's first sea lord. Two highly interesting pictures of the shipping of wool to the Home market from Wellington give a good idea of the magnitude that this great industry has obtained in New Zealand, besides showing how the bales are handled and stored prior to shipment. Numerous other groups, views, and portraits, including a fine panorama of the vineyards at the Waerenga experimental farm, and a picture of the Churtou monument, which is to be re-erected in Auckland, together with the usual amount of high-class letterpress, contribute to a most attractive number,.and a publication which for general public interest stands unrivalled in the Dominion.
