THE OTEKAIKE LEASES.
SUPREME COURT PROCEEDINGS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dtjnkdin, Tuesday. I.v the Supreme Court, to-day Mr. Hosking, K.C., mentioned the wise of Mitchell and McKellar against the Government, an application for an injunction to restrain the Otago Laud Board from proceeding with the ballot for the lease of sections at Otekaike, originally granted to the plaintiffs. Counsel said the matter was to have come before the Court to-day, but he understood thai the other side was nob quite ready. His Honor Mr. Justice Williams suggested that the case should go before, the Full Court. Mr. Hosking said the ballot was fixed for April 8, and it was desired that the injunction should be issued restraining the Land Board from*including in the ballot the land held by plaintiffs. His Honor said if the case did not come on till next week it was unlikely that he would be able to give his decision, until after the Court of Appeal sittings. Mr. Hosking said in that en so he would have to apply for an interim injunction. Mr. Macassey (Acting-Crown solicitor) said all tho papers had not come from Wellington, but were expected to-night. The case was set down for hearing next Tuesday.
